SimpliFi Privacy Policy
The SimpliFi service is designed to help you assess your current financial situation, identify your
financial goals, and prepare a basic financial plan to achieve those goals. In undertaking this
important task, we are committed to protecting your privacy. We want you to be able to take advantage
of all that we have to offer with complete confidence. Be assured that we will protect your privacy.
Under no circumstances will SimpliFi sell or share any personal information about you to or with any
person or organization (other than MDC) unless you authorize it or as may be required by law or court order.
This Policy describes the standards we use in handling information we receive from you:
What information do we collect and how do we use it?
In order to give you the most appropriate investment advice, we need certain private information
about you, your current financial situation, your future investing plans, and your financial planning
goals. If you choose, you may also include similar information for your partner. This information
helps us in providing advice to you that is tailored to helping you achieve your financial planning
goals. The specific information we ask for about you and, if applicable, your partner may include:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- E-mail address
- Current salary
- Account balance(s), including debts
- Your general savings and retirement plan contribution percentages
- Employer match
- Assets held outside your defined contribution plan (i.e., tax-deferred accounts, taxable
investments and other pension plans). You may give us this information in aggregate or you may give
us the corresponding values for your specific investments.
Please note that we will NOT ask you to enter your Social Security Number(s)
or any financial account numbers. For your protection, we suggest
you do not enter this information into the Service at any time, even if it is
only to help you name various types of accounts.
We may also gather information on your on-line activity. This information may be made available to
your plan sponsor and/or plan service provider. Any information provided to your plan sponsor or
plan service provider is in aggregate and based on averages. Your personal information will not
be supplied to these parties unless specified in your User Agreement. This information allows us
to ensure that our service is meeting your needs and helps us in making improvements to the site.

Who provides us with your non-public personal information?
Typically, you supply all the information we will need. However, in some cases, your plan service
provider and/or the administrator of your defined contribution plan may provide a portion of the
above information. By using this information, we can "pre-populate" many of the fields needed to
create your financial plan, eliminating the need for you to manually input information your plan
service provider or record keeper has already captured from you.
Do we disclose your personal information?
We will not make personal information gathered from you available to anyone outside of SimpliFi
(other than MDC) at any time unless we have authorization from you or are required to do so by law. If you become
a 'former' customer, we will continue to refrain from providing your non-public personal information
to anyone outside of SimpliFi; in addition, we will maintain your non-public personal information
indefinitely in a secure archive, so that you will be able to access your previously inputted
information if you become a customer in the future.
What about "cookies"?
"Cookies" consist of information that is stored on your computer's hard drive for recordkeeping
purposes. The use of cookies is common on the internet, and many websites use them to provide
useful features for their customers. Cookies used on the SimpliFi website do not identify you
personally. Instead, they identify your computer and allow us to monitor traffic on the website.
This allows us to provide you with the information and tools that will be most useful to you.
Because no personally identifying information is stored in cookies from our website, your privacy
and security will not be compromised. Of course, you can choose not to accept cookies from our
website by adjusting your browser settings. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of
certain features and content on our website and will be unable to use SimpliFi online tools.
How is your personal information protected?
We recognize that your personal information is very sensitive, and protecting the privacy of this
information is a top priority for us. Because of this, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol
to protect any sensitive information you provide to us. To further guarantee the protection of this
sensitive information, we have developed procedures designed to protect the confidentiality,
security, and integrity of your private information. This includes limiting access to the database
and our customers' information to only those employees of SimpliFi and MDC who need such access. This
access is generally necessary only when maintenance of the database is required.
How do you control or change your information?
You may change or edit any information you've provided to SimpliFi at any time. Keep in mind that
if you change your personal information, the financial planning advice that was previously provided
to you may no longer be appropriate. So, any changes to your information may result in a new set
of financial planning recommendations.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Changes to this Policy may occur from time to time. If they do, we will provide a notice to the
e-mail address you have supplied to us. We will also alert you of any changes upon your re-entering our website.
